From the Director’s Chair: Higher Pump Prices Coming Your Way This Spring

What a way to start the new year, looking at this headline from just last week! If your community is in the throes of rebidding or re-negotiating MSW or C&D contracts you will want to review carefully the fuel surcharge wording. In some cases, it will be to your advantage to pay a slightly higher tipping fee initially if you can eliminate or cap the fuel surcharge clause. This will certainly affect recycling load pricing as well.

NRRA continues to seek input from all interested parties to determine the feasibility of a North Country Recycling Consolidation Center. We will be at the Carroll Town Hall at 6:30PM, weather permitting. (Please call the NRRA office on Tuesday to confirm the meeting for that night or Wednesday if the weather is too bad.) Higher hauling fees as indicated above will adversely impact the North Country even more than the rest of the state, so it will be a productive meeting and very timely. Please call for an agenda if you have not already received one. This session will count toward your NHDES Certification as do all NHDES approved MOM meeting workshops. NRRA will send you an attendance certificate and file the necessary report to NHDES so it will count.
