2018 NRRA Annual Conference Awards – Press Releases

Northeast Resource Recovery Association is pleased to have presented 9 awards this year. These awards provide an opportunity for NRRA Members, Vendors and Staff to “give credit where credit is due” and accolades for “jobs well done”. 

NRRA  presents these awards to recognize the ongoing efforts of our Members and Vendors.

We wish to extend a special thank you to NH the Beautiful for their tremendous support of municipal and school recycling programs from year to year!

Municipal/Business Award Winners

NH the Beautuiful’s 2018 Environmental Stewardship Award – Dennis Patnoe, Lancaster, NH Transfer Station

Most Programs through NRRA in 2017 – Four way tie:  Keene, NH and Rye, NH with 19 Programs each and Walpole, NH and Sunapee, NH with 17 Programs each

NRRA 2018 Outstanding Recycling Facility Website – BCEP Solid Waste District, Pittsfield, NH

NRRA 2018 Rookie of the Year – Kristen Bergeron, Henniker, NH Transfer Station/Recycling Center Manager

NRRA 2018 Business of the Year – Universal Recycling Technologies, LLC, Dover, NH

Sami Izzo “NRRA 2018 Recycler of the Year” – Richard Lee, New London, NH

 

2018 NRRA School CLUB Recycling Conference Awards

The following awards were handed out to deserving students, teachers and school facility personnel during an Awards Luncheon held on Tuesday, May 22, 2018

Special Recognition Award – Allenstown Elementary

NHtB School Recycling Innovation Grant Award – Inter-Lakes Elementary (Steve Watson)

Team Earth Best of the Best (Gold) – Milford Middle School (Joe Gallagher)

Outstanding Work Study Student Recycler – Gabriel Clark, Hollis-Brookline High School

Outstanding Community Involvement – Wendy Berkeley, Somersworth Farm to School Program

Facilities Staff of the Year – Tim Phillips, White Mountain Regional High School

School Recycler of the Year – Mike McGuinness, Oyster River Middle School

Teacher Recycler of the Year – Chelsea Petereit, Lancaster Elementary School

Special Recognition Award – UK – Queen Elizabeth II – Steps to Ban Plastics

Special Recognition Award – UK – Nadia Sparkes – Team Trash Girl
